What is your potty-training policy? At Castle Country Academics, we understand that potty training is a significant developmental milestone. While we prefer children entering our older preschool classrooms to be potty trained or actively working toward it, we fully support families throughout this transition. Our educators maintain open communication, follow consistent routines established at home, and provide positive reinforcement to help your child achieve independence with confidence.
How do you handle food allergies? The safety and well-being of our students are our absolute priorities. We maintain strict food safety protocols and handle severe allergies on an individual basis. Upon enrollment, parents must provide detailed documentation from their pediatrician outlining any allergies or sensitivities. Our teaching and kitchen staff are fully trained in allergy management, cross-contamination prevention, and emergency response procedures to ensure a completely safe environment for every child.
What is the drop-off and pick-up window? To ensure a smooth, secure, and structured daily routine, we observe designated drop-off and pick-up windows. Standard morning drop-off runs from 7:00 AM to 8:20 AM, allowing children time to settle in before our morning curriculum begins. Afternoon pick-up runs from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. If you require extended care or need to arrange a late pick-up, please contact our administrative office ahead of time; our extended school services are available until 5:30 PM.
Are snacks and lunch provided, or do they pack them? Yes! At Castle Country Academics, healthy nutrition is fully included in your tuition. We provide two wholesome snacks every day—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—as well as a nutritious lunch prepared fresh for the children. Parents do not need to worry about packing meals unless there are specific, documented dietary needs.
When is naptime/rest time? Our rest periods vary based on daily schedules and age-appropriate developmental needs. Children begin settling down to lay down between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM. Our younger children typically require more rest, sleeping between 1 to 2 hours, while our older scholars transition to a shorter rest or quiet time period lasting from 40 minutes to an hour.
How much outdoor play time do the children get daily? Yes! Our students get 1 hour of outdoor play daily to run, explore, and build gross motor skills. This is split into a 30-minute morning recess and a 30-minute afternoon recess. To ensure a safe, uncrowded environment with age-appropriate play, different age groups have their recess scheduled at different times throughout the day.
What is the policy for sick days and inclement weather? To maintain a healthy environment for all our students, we ask that children stay home if they have a fever, vomiting, or a contagious illness, and they may return once they are symptom-free for 24 hours. For school closures due to severe winter weather or storms, we follow local safety alerts and will notify families immediately via email and our parent notification channels: For inclement weather, please check Channel 14, Class Dojo, or Facebook for further notice.
